What is Spark Ad Manager?

Spark Ad Manager is an advertising platform that helps advertisers to reach their audience by showing video ads on top publisher platforms like Sling, Discovery, A&E & Univision, and many others.

What is a campaign?

To run an ad on Spark Ad Manager, you need to create a campaign. A campaign is like an order with all the necessary information about your offer, it describes the who, what, when, and where will see your advertising.

How to create a campaign?

To create a new campaign you just need to click on the “create campaign“ button on the main page of the Spark Ad Manager app.

Spark Ad Manager has a user-friendly step-by-step wizard to help you set up all the settings of your campaign.

What is the difference between campaign statuses?
  • Draft — In this status, your campaign hasn’t launched yet because you still have to complete the order form. You can edit the information that you already entered for the campaign.
  • Live — In this status, your campaign is ready and live, it starts showing on the internet and gain traffic.
  • Built — With this status you’ve provided all of the required information for the campaign and your campaign is ready, but the campaign start date has not come yet.
  • Ended — This status means that the end date has already passed or the campaign is out of budget and your campaign is no longer live.
  • Paused — This status means that your campaign was temporarily paused. You could have paused it yourself, or our moderators might have paused the campaign due to some sort of delivery issue.

How much time does it take to get traffic after campaign approval?

It may take up to 1 hour after the campaign is approved by our managers before you start getting traffic according to your campaign settings.

My campaign isn’t delivering ads, why? Possible issues.
  • The campaign hasn’t started. You have completed the campaign setup but forgot to click on the “Start” button.
  • The creative is not approved. Your video creative is still under review or declined by the moderator. Please check the creative’s status in your campaign.
  • The campaign is not complete. You didn’t complete the campaign setup and it is still in the “draft” status.
  • Your balance is low. You don’t have enough funds to start the campaign, please top up your balance.
  • Your campaign is paused. You have paused your campaign for a while and didn’t start it again. Please check your campaign’s status. Your targeting is too narrow.
  • You have chosen too many audience targeting or too few geos. Please check the targeting section within your campaign and try to expand it.
What is ad targeting?

Targeted ads are meant to reach certain customers based on geo, demographics, psychographics, behavior, and other second-order activities that are learned usually through data exhaust produced by users themselves.

What targeting options are available?

In Spark Ad Manager, you can set up a location (by state, city, county name, or zip – code), gender, age range, education, income, ownership, and interests.

In the “Targeting” section, how many different audience segments (e.g., gender, income, etc.) should I select?

Besides selecting your Geo Targeting preference, we recommend selecting no more than two audience segments to ensure the largest possible addressable market for your video ads to be delivered to.

Will my video ads only be shown to people who meet all my audience segment selections?

We will do our best to deliver your video ads to people who meet your targeting details, but we cannot guarantee that impressions will only be delivered to your target audience. The more different audience segments that you select, the smaller the addressable market and the more likely that ads will be delivered outside of our target audience.

What is a creative?

Since Spark Ad Manager is a video advertising platform, a creative is a video file ad you want to show to your potential customers within your campaign(s).

What are creative requirements?
  • Supported formats: .MPEG, .MP4, .MOV, .AVI
  • Supported duration (in seconds): 15, 30, 60
  • File size: no more than 377MB
Why does a creative need to be approved?

A creative must meet Spark Ad Manager’s advertising policies prior to being able to bid on Spark Ad Manager inventory. In addition to Ad Manager’s initial review, creatives may be manually reviewed at any time by the Ad Manager while they’re serving.

How long does it take to approve new creative?

Every time you upload a new creative or make changes to an existing one, your creative is sent to our moderators. Creatives are manually reviewed by moderators in chronological order and it usually takes 1-3 days to approve.

How much does it cost for a custom creative?

The custom creative order per video is $350. When you request a video we automatically hold this amount from your account balance.

What are the available payment methods?

VISA, Mastercard, PayPal, and American Express.

The minimum spend per campaign is $1.
